Mission Statement:

Carolina Perinatal Support Network was established to provide a bridge of support for families experiencing an adverse prenatal diagnosis that will likely result in a preborn or newborn death.
Through practical guidance, education, and compassionate support, we seek to relieve the emotional suffering while preserving the dignity and integrity of the family as they make meaningful plans to honor the life of their baby, regardless of the length of their baby’s life.
What we provide to our Families:
-
Coordination of care by a registered nurse experienced in perinatal loss.
-
Coordination of care with providers across various sites of care such as Neonatology, Labor and Delivery, Anesthesia and Clergy.
-
Assist parents with the creation of a birth plan that speaks to their wishes and preferences for the birth experience.
-
Provide Parent Partner Referrals for additional emotional support.
-
24 hour access to a perinatal support team member.
-
Assist with the collection and preservation of keepsakes.
-
At the parent’s request, attend delivery and serve as an advocate for the family to see that birth plan requests are fulfilled.
-
Assist with advance planning of memorial services.
-
Provide family support resources and referrals to community support groups.
-
Ongoing follow-up and grief support for up to a year after delivery.
